CBH Holds Wizard of Oz-Themed Open House for Burlington Family Apartments

Staff and residents celebrate completed leasing of all apartments in the new building

Children played with colorful balloons as neighbors chatted with each other in the beautiful summer evening. The theme for Burlington Family Apartment’s open house, held on June 18th, was “there’s no place like home.” Tenants and CBH staff members shared their gratefulness for the new building as they enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs together.

Nancy, a Burlington resident, arrived dressed as the Tin Man, and her daughters were dressed as Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion. Nancy spoke during the program, saying that her new apartment was a gift and a chance for her and her family to move forward with their lives.

Over 50 people attended the open house. The event was organized by CBH staff, board members, and service providers from Ocean Park Community Center and The John Stewart Company.

Burlington Family Apartments is CBH’s first building to integrate families, single residents, residents with special needs, and general affordable apartments.
