Construction Updates at Corazón Del Valle
We’re excited to share the construction progress at Corazón del Valle! According to Holos Assistant Project Manager Lety Muro, much of the infrastructure to provide tenants with a healthy, supportive environment is taking shape.
“What stands in its place now are two five story buildings with smooth white rounded walls and board form planters that meander through the shared courtyard of CDV I & II,” said Muro.
The planters and building shape are part of a conscious effort to design a living space that naturally cools down the environment, with extensive landscaping that will be irrigated by a greywater recycling system. Community members will also benefit from a cooling center, open to residents and neighbors during heat waves.
Another critical infrastructure element in place is the photovoltaic system, comprised of solar panels at the roof to create resiliency and reduce reliance on the electric grid in case of an emergency.
“At the ground level a battery backup system will be stored and support the PV panels installed and visible from an aerial view,” said Muro.
The infrastructure for a community clinic, operated by the San Fernando Community Health Clinic (SFCHC), is starting to take shape as well. The clinic will open in summer 2024, and will offer residents and community members quality health services such as medical care, dental work and behavioral health services.
