Sunnyside will be developed on a currently vacant lot in the heart of South Los Angeles. The building will contain 26 permanent supportive housing units, half reserved for chronically unhoused individuals and families, and half open as general affordable units. The space is designed to be secure with a gated main entrance. All units come fully furnished with high efficiency fixtures and appliances. A live-in property manager and dedicated social services office space offer support and opportunities to connect with the greater Los Angeles community.
Rising above the central entranceway and foyer are four story towers with outdoor staircases and landings. Significant windows and natural light create an uplifted atmosphere, allowing for passive heating and cooling which reduces energy consumption. Landscaping with native plants and trees creates cooler shaded areas while reducing water use and provides private spaces for residents. Residents will enjoy a rooftop deck with furniture and landscaping, long term bicycle parking and a community room.
