Named after the style of each site, The Courtyards in Long Beach is a substantial rehabilitation of four single-story apartment buildings constructed in the 1920s. Each building sports a courtyard surrounded by a range of 10 to 12 studio apartments complete with kitchens and bathrooms. The Courtyards in Long Beach includes 44 studio apartments in a mixed population, multi-site model. The architectural design of each building compliments the surrounding historic homes and was designed using green-building criteria from Enterprise’s Green Communities program.

The Courtyards in Long Beach was one of Holos Communities’ first non-LIHTC projects, with the project being one of the first Mental Health Services Act-funded projects funded through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA).

Nearby amenities to the buildings on Stanley Ave and Redondo Ave include a Food 4 Less, public transportation on Anaheim Street, Bryant Elementary School Willard Elementary School and Woodrow Wilson High School. Amenities close to the Esther Street building include the Pacific Coast Highway Blue Line light rail station, El Paisano Supermarket, Kim Long Market, Roosevelt Elementary School, and Long Beach Poly High.
