Our largest project to date, Corazón del Valle (CDV) is currently leasing up. Named after its location in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, CDV will be home to 176 households across 2 phases. Half of all units will be set as permanent supportive housing, and the remaining will be general affordable units. The building will house a neighborhood clinic operated by the San Fernando Community Health Center that will be open to both the tenants of the building and the greater community.
CDV will be developed to model healthy and environmentally friendly design practices, such as extensive landscaping irrigated by a greywater recycling system, and solar panels to power an on-site battery array. Known as the Safe Haven concept, power captured in the battery array will provide critical services in case of a blackout.
Panorama High School, Michelle Obama Elementary School, and Cal Burke Continuation High School for adults are all located within a two-block radius from CDV. Several grocery stores as well as at least 3 pharmacies are within a 15-minute walk from the community.
Van Nuys Boulevard provides access to at least four Metro bus lines less than 500 feet from CDV, and another three lines are a half-mile away that provide access to Amtrak and Metrolink trains. Metro has also greenlighted a new rail line in the San Fernando Valley that would start at the Van Nuys Transit Center, set to run north along Van Nuys, running right past the apartment site.
