Named after the views of the port from the building, Vistas del Puerto (VDP) provides 23 general affordable units, 24 permanent supportive housing units and one manager’s apartment. The apartment complex was developed to meet Green Point Platinum environmental standards using energy efficient and sustainable features, such as solar panels.
“When projects like this open, it’s not just an improvement for the people that live here, it’s also an improvement for the lives of the people and the neighbors that are around in the community that are welcoming in neighbors and are seeing a quality project like this in the neighborhood,” former Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia said at VDP’s grand opening.
